Factory-matched to your vehicle's exact OEM paint code. Pick your code, then a size.

Clear coat: Paint pens and small bottles use 1K clear. Half pint, pint, and quart clear coat are ready to spray. Do not add reducer or hardener unless the product label says to.

Tri-coat and pearl: If your color lists Layer 1 and Layer 2, order and apply both layers in sequence before clear coat.

If you provide us your License Plate or VIN we can get a much closer match.
This paint code is extremely difficult to match. A VIN is required for the closest possible result, but an exact color match cannot be guaranteed. All sales are final, and returns are not accepted.
We use the primary paint code associated with your vehicle. For two-tone vehicles, contact info@partify.store with your VIN.

Broader control. Cleaner coverage.

Build the repair with motion, not a heavy blast.

Partify aerosol is intended to lay factory-matched color across a localized area with light, overlapping passes. The repair gets cleaner when the surface is prepared, the can is tested first, and coverage is built gradually.

  1. 01

    Repair, clean, and mask

Remove loose rust and complete the needed surface repair first. Clean and dry the area completely, then mask beyond the repair to manage overspray.

  2. 02

    Shake and test the can

Shake for the time on the label. Seat the nozzle and test the pattern on a card away from the vehicle before any paint reaches the repair.

  3. 03

    Use light, overlapping passes

Use the labeled spray distance. Begin moving before the repair, overlap each pass consistently, and release after passing the opposite edge.

  4. 04

    Let each coat flash

Build coverage with multiple light coats. Follow the label for flash timing and stop if the material begins to run, sag, spit, or spray unevenly.

  5. 05

    Clear and cure as directed

Apply compatible clearcoat only when the color stage is ready. Follow the product label for its distance, coats, timing, ventilation, and cure instructions.

Aerosol quantity planner

Plan by repair area, required layers, and spray loss.

A bottle-ounce estimate cannot predict aerosol use. Masking width, overspray, overlap, opacity, technique, and the labeled coat schedule all change how many cans a job can require.

1. Measure the complete spray footprint.Include the prepared repair, blend area, and the space that must be masked and protected from overspray.

2. Count every selected layer.Primer, matched color, and clearcoat are separate cans. Follow each can label for coats, overlap, distance, and flash time.

3. Allow for test passes and material loss. One configured package supplies one can per selected layer; it does not guarantee a specific square-foot result.

Multiple repair areas or a large panel?Confirm the repair plan with a paint specialist before ordering so the quantity reflects the actual panel, layer stack, and equipment.

Aerosol help, not generic advice

Questions about your touch-up aerosol?

These answers address can selection, nozzle control, spray passes, clearcoat, safety, storage, and expectations for the Partify aerosol system.

Choose the right aerosol system

Is touch-up aerosol right for my repair?

Choose aerosol for broader scuffs, longer scratches, and localized repair areas that need even coverage in overlapping passes. It is not a replacement for professional refinishing of a full panel, structural damage, dents, peeling finish, or active rust.

What kind of repair is aerosol best suited for?

Aerosol is best suited to localized repair areas that are too broad for pinpoint application but do not require a full-panel repaint. Its spray pattern can cover scuffs and longer scratches evenly when the surface is prepared, masked, and built with light overlapping passes.

How is the color for my aerosol matched?

Partify starts with VIN, license plate, or the factory paint code rather than an on-screen color guess. That identifies the factory formula for the matched aerosol. Age, sunlight, previous bodywork, and panel condition can still affect how the original formula appears beside the vehicle today.

Which aerosol package should I choose?

Paint Only supplies matched color for a prepared repair. Essential adds compatible 1K clearcoat for most glossy exterior repairs with intact primer. Preferred adds primer for damage that exposes bare metal or plastic after correct surface preparation.

How much area does one aerosol can cover?

Coverage depends on the repair shape, overlap, color opacity, number of coats, technique, and spray loss. Aerosol is meant for localized repair areas, not a guaranteed full-panel repaint. Use the aerosol quantity planner on this page and confirm multiple areas or a large panel with a paint specialist before ordering.

Do I need primer with aerosol paint?

Primer is generally needed when damage reaches bare metal or plastic after loose rust and damaged material have been removed. If the original primer remains sound, another primer layer may not be needed. Follow the layer plan and product label supplied with your order.

Does an aerosol repair need clearcoat?

Most modern glossy exterior finishes use clearcoat. When your matched system includes it, compatible 1K clearcoat protects the color stage and helps restore the surrounding sheen. Matte, satin, single-stage, pearl, and tri-coat finishes can require a different supplied layer plan.

Control the spray can

How do I prepare the aerosol nozzle?

Shake the can for the time on its label, make sure the nozzle is seated, and test the pattern on a disposable card. Check the pattern and flow before moving near the vehicle. The product label is the authority for preparation and use.

What spray distance should I use?

Use the distance stated on the exact aerosol label. Holding the can too close can flood the surface; holding it too far away can create dry, textured coverage. Test on a card first instead of guessing over the repair.

How should I make each aerosol pass?

Keep the can moving and roughly parallel to the repair. Start the pass before the repair, overlap the prior pass consistently, and release after moving past the opposite edge. Do not stop or reverse direction while spraying directly over the repair.

Why is my aerosol paint running or sagging?

Runs and sags usually mean a coat was too wet, too close, too slow, or applied before the prior coat was ready. Stop spraying, let the material follow the label's instructions, then reassess on a test card before continuing.

What should I do if the can spits or the pattern is uneven?

Stop before spraying the vehicle. Check that the nozzle is seated and follow the label's cleaning or troubleshooting directions. Do not try to fix an uneven pattern by spraying closer or applying a heavier coat.

Should I mask around an aerosol repair?

Yes. Mask beyond the repair area to control overspray, and protect adjacent trim, glass, tires, openings, and nearby vehicles. Ensure the masking layout does not create a hard edge where the repair requires a softer blend.

Build and protect the finish

How many aerosol coats should I apply?

Apply only the number of light coats the product label calls for, using enough passes to build even coverage without flooding the repair. Color, damage depth, and conditions can change the number required. Do not use a heavy wet coat to shortcut the process.

How long should aerosol color dry before the next coat or clearcoat?

Follow the flash and recoat timing on the exact Partify aerosol and compatible clearcoat labels. Temperature, humidity, coat thickness, and ventilation can change drying and cure. The color stage must be ready before another layer is applied.

How do pearl and tri-coat aerosol colors work?

These finishes depend on a complete layer system and can change with coat thickness and viewing angle. If the matched order includes Layer 1 and Layer 2, apply them in the supplied sequence before compatible clearcoat. Evaluate a fully dried test of the complete stack.

When can I wash, wax, sand, or polish the repair?

Wait for the complete system to cure for the period stated on the product labels and supplied instructions. Washing, waxing, sanding, or polishing too early can damage a fresh repair and cannot replace proper cure time.

Can I spray aerosol paint over rust?

No. Remove loose rust and complete the needed corrosion repair first. Paint over active rust may not adhere properly and allows damage to continue underneath the new finish.

Safety, care, and expectations

What safety precautions should I use with touch-up aerosol?

Read and follow all safety information on the exact product. Use the listed ventilation and protective equipment, keep ignition sources away, and do not use aerosol in an enclosed or unsuitable area. Product-label directions take priority over this page.

Will an aerosol repair be completely invisible?

An aerosol repair is designed to restore color and protect a localized area, not recreate a factory spray booth finish across an entire panel. Damage depth, metallic orientation, surrounding paint condition, preparation, masking, and application technique influence the result.

Why can wet aerosol paint look different from the vehicle?

Wet material, fresh color without clearcoat, and incomplete cure can look different from the final finish. Compare only a fully dried test using the complete supplied layer system in natural light.

How should I store a partially used aerosol can?

Follow the can's storage and nozzle-care directions. Keep it upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sun, freezing, heat, damage, children, and ignition sources. Do not puncture, incinerate, or store a can where its label prohibits it.

Can I use a stored can on a later repair?

Inspect the can and nozzle and test the pattern away from the vehicle before reuse. Do not use a can that is damaged, leaking, behaving abnormally, or cannot be restored through the label's preparation instructions. Contact Partify support if you need help.

What if my fully dried test still looks wrong?

Stop before applying to the vehicle. Recheck the VIN or factory paint code and confirm every required layer was applied in order. If a fully dried test still differs, contact Partify with the order number and clear photos of the paint code, test sample, and vehicle finish.
