Sensor holes explanation

Sensor Holes – What They Are and Why They Matter

Many modern vehicles are equipped with parking sensors or driver-assist sensors located in the front or rear bumpers. These sensors detect obstacles and help with parking or collision avoidance.

What is a Sensor Hole?
A sensor hole is a precisely positioned opening in the bumper designed to hold one of these sensors. Without this opening, the sensor cannot be installed, and the system won’t function.

Example:

  • Bumper without sensor holes: This type of bumper has a smooth surface with no cutouts. It is suitable for vehicles that do not use parking sensors.

  • Bumper with sensor holes: This bumper has small round openings in specific locations where the parking sensors are mounted.
